Meet Brooke Widder, Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia

Therapist | Roswell, GA | Virtual sessions across Georgia and Florida
Hi! I'm Brooke.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Roswell, GA. I see clients in person one day a week and virtually throughout Georgia, so no matter where you are in the state, we can work together.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation — honest, challenging, sometimes a little funny, and always in your corner. My approach is collaborative by design: you set the goals, and I bring the tools, perspective, and a whole lot of genuine curiosity about you as a person.

Training, Credentials, and Experience

I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University and hold a full LPC license in Georgia. I also hold licensure in Florida, which allows me to work with clients there if needed. Over my career, I've specialized in anxiety, trauma, identity, addiction, and LGBTQ+ affirming care: areas where I've found the most meaningful work tends to happen.

My practice draws from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Internal Family Systems, and other approaches tailored to what actually fits you — not a one-size-fits-all formula.

I am in the process of completing the intensive Somatic Experiencing Professional Training Program through Somatic Experiencing International.

How I work with clients

I use humor and metaphor as tools, because sometimes a well-placed analogy unlocks what a hundred serious sentences couldn't. My sessions are collaborative, grounded, and paced by you.

I also draw on somatic experiencing to help you tune into the way your body holds stress, anxiety, and trauma, not just the stories we tell about them. Combined with CBT techniques, we work on both the physical and cognitive patterns that keep you stuck.

You might be in the right place if...

You are an adult navigating anxiety, trauma, identity questions, life transitions, and the specific challenges that come with being neurodivergent or LGBTQ+ in a world that doesn't always make space for you. My practice is a deliberately affirming, non-judgmental environment.

Anxiety & overwhelm | Trauma | LGBTQ+ affirming | Women's issues | Self-esteem & identity | Neurodiversity
